Over the last 2 years Prince has displayed actions that seemed normal. Things that normal boys do. He is rough and he is tough. He does make scenes out of the minor things that he does, if he bumps his head or if he kicks something. I try to brush it off. Usually if he is really hurt he cries for a few then he is done.
Not this time
Prince jumped off the couch like he does daily. Sometimes once, sometimes 5 times, sometimes even 10 times, over and over again. We have tried to stop him, my fear is he would break something.
You see, he seeks these types of pressure. Deep impact.
Last night, while jumping off the couch my fear came true.
Prince has a broken leg.
I was told he has a spiral fracture.
His break is pretty clean.
I was told that he will probably be in a cast for 6-8 weeks and he should not need surgery.
We are leaning towards 6 weeks in hopes that it is off before SD can get home.
I am hoping he is not in to much pain. We will know more later after I go to the doc for the plaster cast!
I did not plan for this to happen on deployment but I am sure I can get through this as well
Oh no! Poor baby (poor mommy too!). How's he feeling? And of course it happened during a deployment...isn't that how it works? Hope he feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no- that must have been so scary for the both of you! I hope he heals quickly!
