Okay so we have had some pretty nice weather here. We have a grassy area in front of the house and depending on the time of day you can let the kids run around and play. I say depending on time of day because he have a pretty full parking lot now and people come and go in the early morning.
So last week the weather was really nice and Prince went out to play. So I gathered both kids and the dog and went outside. Well with in about 30 minutes Prince had little dots on his legs. I scooped the kids up and took the dog inside. I went and got some benadryl.
Prince has been to an allergist. They told me as of the tests they ran he is not allergic to what they tested for. They did advise me that he had sensitive skin.
So by the time I get to the store he has a couple dots on his face as well. I get the benadryl and give it a chance. Things clear up within a couple hours.
I am aware at the first of every month a person comes here to spray for pests, I am aware that the grass that is here is a bit harder (not as soft as some grass) than most, my dog doesn't even really like it. I call the pediatrician and ask for a referral to the allergist again and see if they can put it through quick.
Well they did their part but the allergist doesn't have an appointment for a month an a half. That won't work. Well now he has new eczema spots. He has always had 3. Now he has them behind his knees. It has not been hot and we have not changed anything. Maybe it is coincidence that it happened around the same time.
They are putting in an RX for his cream because these are a little bit different than the other 3 spots that he has. I hope the RX works.
It is all very frustrating....

Speech week 6
we have great news from speech!!!
Prince is doing really well. He is on the right track. He still signs and talks at the same time. Sometimes he just talks, others he just signs. We always have to be watchful of him just in case he is using his hands. His teacher mentioned something to me about them doing a trial play group type of thing. However, she was not sure.
Today she told me that they have picked Prince and 5 other kids to go every Friday for 1.5 hours. He will eat lunch there and play with kids in ways they have worked with the local school district. Speech, social and sensory issues are things they are going to work with.
I am a little worried, he is my baby. I have not really left him in a setting like that WITHOUT his sister. His teacher(s) (OT, Speech and SDRC) all know the situations that go on with him, so they are aware of his actions with other kids. He is not the only one like this so we are all aware of things that might happen.
I am excited for him to go. I hope it is something that he can benefit from, especially since he will start school soon after it ends!

Weekend wrap-up
This weekend was good, overall. SD actually came home early, for the first time in 2 weeks! The kids were excited. They really missed their daddy. Saturday we went and took the kids out then took them to the mall for the merry-go-round! The kids love it and SD can stomach the ride! Saturday night we went to his friends house up the street to watch the UFC fight. I am not a fan of these things. I figured, what the hell. I have met all these people before so it wasn't anything to worry about. They do not get stupid. Anyway. I decided after looking at these boys with their JACKED up faces that I would much rather my son play chess then be a fighter. LOL I mean, I know he needs to play football and all that. I pray he does not go that direction! I am not sure that I would have paid $60 to watch that fight... It was good though!
Sunday, I was sicker than a dog after drinking to much the night before. My zofran pills DID NOT work. The only thing that did was sleeping the sickness off. Which sucked because we had stuff to do. I was not even able to hold down liquids. After my nap I felt better and we took the kids out and got dinner and snacks with them.
We had a nice relaxing weekend. Today I did a laundry list of things that I had not planned BUT I felt good so I figured I should do it while I can...

Red light, Green Light
SD and I have taught Prince "Red Light, Green Light". It is really cute. He doesn't say the colors to well, but he does great. He and Princess play together with us. At first we taught him across the living room and now we go down the hallway. We have taught him and got him to say the basic colors and he can say numbers 1-4! All this in a calendar months of time!
Also, we got some good news today from the ship. I can't really discuss the details but we will have SD home more in the coming months than we first thought. Which is really good for the kids.
Prince has a teacher come every Wednesday to work with him. I was a bit hesitant at first. We are working up to being able to put him in a school when he is 2 years and 6 months. I am not sure how I feel about this, considering the things he does. The more words he uses the better he gets. I still worry about it a bit. His teacher is young and really nice. She comes and uses his toys and incorporates them in her lesson plans. Which I think is great. She basically works with his speech and getting him to open up more in his own environment with other people. It is great and gives Princess and I some one on one time.
Sooner than I thought I will have them both in school. I am not sure I am ready for that. I know it is for the best.

Amerrica Leaded or Unleaded
Our lovely Federal Government has decided that they must do something on a completely different level of led poising. I am a second hand store shopper. I have found some cute things and great buys on perfectly good clothing. Especially for my daughter who has super long legs and a TINY waist! I have found some cute toys and books as well. My kids love it. Call it cheap or thrifty I see no harm in purchasing something that is not new for my child who will go through it in 6 months. Things I do not not buy... Undies, shoes, socks and anything wearable that can not be washed in a normal washer and dryer.
So this new law has be boggled. That means things at Etsy are not going to be sold anymore, which are hand made things. This law applies to things that are for children 12 and under. Hand made gifts for babies, those are the best, are not going to be able to be sold. I am sure you can give them but they can not be sold.
There is also an article on Snopes.com (Article found here) that states this will only take effect to the manufacturers. We will see. How will the government regulate this one. They have other things to worry about, Our men and women coming home safe, economy, and jobs for the millions that have lost them.
Crack down on the manufactures not the people who try to save money, be frugal or have a hobby making wonderful things for children.

They're banning toys, taking books from schools and libraries, hurting low income families, killing entrepreneurial spirit and risking putting the economy in an even greater depression than we've seen in decades. I'd like to introduce you to their solution: the CPSIA.
Do you know about the CPSIA? No? Then I ask you to take a few minutes to find out about it.
The CPSIA stands for Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, a new set of laws that will come into effect on 10 February, 2009 and will impact many, many people in a negative way. Make no mistake, this is very real. View it for yourself. If Forbes, the American Library Association and numerous other media are paying attention, perhaps you should too.
How will these new laws affect you? Well, here are a few examples:
To the Parents of Young Students:
Due to the new law, expect to see the cost of school supplies sky rocket. While those paper clips weren't originally intended for your student to use, they will need to be tested now that your 11-year-old needs them for his school project. This law applies to any and all school supplies (textbooks, pencils, crayons, paper, etc.) being used by children under 12.
To the Avid Reader:
Due to the new law, all children's books will be pulled from library and school shelves, as there is no exemption for them. That’s okay though, there's always television. Our children don’t need to learn the love of reading after all.

To the Lover of All Things Handmade:
Due to the new law, you will now be given a cotton ball and an instruction manual so you can make it yourself since that blanket you originally had your eye on for $50 will now cost you around $1,000 after it's passed testing. It won't even be the one-of-a-kind blanket you were hoping for. Items are destroyed in the testing process making one-of-a-kind items virtually impossible. So that gorgeous hand-knit hat you bought your child this past winter won’t be available next winter.
To the Environmentalist:
Due to the new law, all items in non-compliance will now be dumped into our already overflowing landfills. Imagine not just products from the small business owners, but the Big Box Stores as well. You can't sell it so you must toss it. Or be potentially sued for selling it. You can't even give them away. If you are caught, it is still a violation.
To the Second-Hand Shopper:
Due to the new law, you will now need to spend $20 for that brand new pair of jeans for your 2-year old, rather than shop at the Goodwill for second hand. Many resale shops are eliminating children's items all together to avoid future lawsuits.
To the Entrepreneur:
Due to this new law, you will be forced to adhere to strict testing of your unique products or discontinue to make and/or sell them. Small businesses will be likely to be unable to afford the cost of testing and be forced to close up shop. Due to the current economic state, you'll have to hope for the best when it comes to finding a new job in Corporate America.
To the Antique Toy Collector:
Due to the new law, you'd better start buying now because it's all going to private collection and will no longer be available to purchase. “Because the new rules apply retroactively, toys and clothes already on the shelf will have to be thrown out if they aren't certified as safe.”
To the American Economy:
Already struggling under an economy that hasn’t been this weak in decades, the American economy will be hit harder with the inevitable loss of jobs and revenues from suppliers, small businesses and consumers. The required testing is far too costly and restrictive for small businesses or individuals to undertake.
To the Worldwide Economy:
Due to this new law, many foreign manufacturers have already pulled out of the US market. You can imagine the impact of this on their businesses.

Rambelings, Superstitions... What a weekend
There comes a time in every military relationship that "duty calls". It has come this time. Over the next 2 months (8 weeks) he will be here 3. We were ready for this. Honestly, since I am so sick and tired... I am not ready for this. I am at the stage where hormones are nuts and the kids do not help. Princess tries her hardest to understand. Prince, doesn't understand and has NO idea what is going on. I am nervous to even see his reaction to daddy being gone for a week! He doesn't do well with change.
I am trying to feel better. I keep telling myself that there is a couple more weeks... Couple more weeks. I have it pretty well under control. As long as I take a Zofran RIGHT when I go to get out of bed.
I have found such good deals on stuff for the munchkin. My only thing is I have a superstition that you do not buy stuff before 12 weeks. I also believe that you do not tell people before 12 weeks. My thing is I was feeling SO horrible that I had to tell people because of a superstition that something could happen. I have began shopping. I am getting the minor things that I might need before we find out the gender. I am still debating on a stroller because we have a sit-n-stand which Ethan loves but I am not sure that he will actually sit in it without the 5pt harness on him! We will find out with time I guess. I have a bit. I would like to wear the baby as long as possible.
I have been catching up with my cleaning very slowly. Laundry is getting done and some cleaning. I still have to clean carpets of puppy accidents from Zoey which will take forever. I have done lots of laundry and trying to clean my room. I will get all this done before the munchkin is here!
