TriCare, you suck!

Seeing as I am a Navy wife. Our family has TriCare for health coverage. I received a call today from Prince's speech company and they informed me that TriCare is cutting some benefits up to 70 percent. Guess which is one of those areas effects my son?

You guessed it, speech!

Previously he went twice a week for 2 hour time slots. One was personal time and the other was a group time.

I assume the timing couldn't be better because we were discussing cutting his time because he is doing so well.

I am not so worried about speech as I am his OT. I took him out of the previous place because they seemed to believe it was beneficial that he eat bread rather than learn to deal with social situations. Not exactly what I had in mind!

So since the Munchkin is born I am going to put him in the new place. Once again, TriCare you suck, I have to go through the referral process. How lovely.

My case is not so bad. I really hope they make exceptions for those kids who are in the need of more therapy.

For those of you reading who are in different TriCare regions, I'm not sure if this is just TriWest or if it is all of TriCare.

I can tell you that it sucks though!

Bye, Ele

Okay so in 2007 after Prince was born it was time for a new car. SD wanted to get me a van, I was not really up for a van at that point. Plus, I knew if I had more seats and room I would want more kids.
Anyway, we got an '03 Honda Element. The car ONLY seats 4 people. I loved this car! It had plastic floor boards! NO carpet! What mom can't love that! Paper towels and you are good! The seats went crazy ways so you could put anything in it! A 5 drawer dresser, a .5 cubic chest freezer! The car was great. Wonderful gas mileage as well.
Since we found out Munchkin was on the way we knew Ele would have to go. After all, duct taping one of the kids to the roof was not safe!
I wanted to wait until after deployment before getting a new car, we figured out very quick that can't happen! After a recent outing with all 5 of us its just not possible.
So SD went to trade in Ele. I was sure that we were gonna get taken for a ride on the trade in. Little did I know he went to Car Max. We got Kelly Blue Book trade in value for the car, very surprising. He said shopping at Car Max was like going to buy a computer. They were more interested in what HE wanted not in what the car salesmen was going to make. He couldn't say enough about his experience buying a car through them. He said he would defiantly buy another car through them.
(especially since I am WAY to cheap to buy a new car off the lot)

Any who, I am now one of those mom's. You know, the kind that drive a mini van with stickers on it! The kind that have kids piling out of every door! Just want I didn't want if you remember from the beginning of this post.

I will say my husband did good. The van is nice and drives like a car. Its a tad bit longer than the Element and wider but I can get used to that. I like the options that it has and the seating really works. 2 extra seats for guests!

So, so long Ele it was fun while it lasted!

Works For Me Wednesday- Kid Friendly Apple

I have decided to also do Works For Me Wednesday hosted over at We Are THAT Family. I love this because you can get new neat ideas that you may not have thought of from others. I might not do this weekly but I will try.

My kiddos love apples. The part that worries me about giving them the entire apple is the seeds. I guess there really is no harm in them BUT knowing my kids there would be.
So I take a melon baller and take out the core!!! That is what works for me!

Here are some pictures of how I get it done!

She's Here!!!!

Munchkin was born August 12th at 0941. She weighed in at 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.

She also put the old wives tale to rest, my heart burn indeed was due to a head full of hair. Black hair!

Tuesday I had been having cramping with contractions all day. I called on how to time them and they informed me since they didn't hurt not to worry. As the day went on I felt like someone was trying to stretch me apart. Where I had my previous invisions was hurting. I called labor and delivery and they informed me I should probably get seen.

We got the kids ready for bed, sitter came over and off to the hospital we went.

I went in and they got me hooked up to monitors. Her heart was not going well with contractions so I drank cold water and prayed for the best. They did an internal exam and I was 2cm and 50% thinned out. My contractions were 2 to 3 minutes apart.

I was admitted for the pain. They held me over night with 15mg of moriphine in an IV.

The pain was crazy. I felt like someone was trying to rip me apart. Was not able to stand up right walk right anything.

So the next morning I was STILL in pain. Hubby and I were a bit weirded out by this. I was informed it was most likely scar tissue because if there was a rupture or early stages of one that munchkin would react to it.
I believed that munchkin would react to a rupture but I wasn't so sure about the scar tissue bit. I did a lot after Princess was born. Not so much after Prince was born! Basically nothing! I was to take care of him. So I had a hard time buying their scar tissue crap.

SD and I made the decision with that amount of pain around the incision we didn't want to risk anything for the VBAC. We decided to schedule a csection.

I was informed they had an appointment the 12th between 8 and 12 and would take me. We took it.

I was informed of risks of a spinal due to low platelets. I also had to sign lots of paperwork for transfusions should I not recover on my own.

The process started at 0740 and 2 hours later my newest Princess arrived.

I will say while I am very glad I had the option for a VBAC I am also glad I did not take the chance. We were both scared shitless because of Prince's birth. We left it in God's hands. She was born perfect! Never did I ever think I would be so happy to hear a baby cry. She had some testing done for sugars. Nothing major. No nursery stays, no tanning beds for jaundice, nothing. She was with me the entire time!

I am also proud to say that unlike the last 2 births SD was there! He cut the cord, he took pictures and did the daddy bit. It was nice.

I have had a wonderful recovery. I have no regrets about the csection. I guess after feeling like you were going to be ripped apart it would make the choice easier. Not much pain this time around, just when getting up and sitting for to long. Nursing has been a breeze. I must say, the cramps I get when nursing are a bitch! They hurt worse than my incision! They hurt worse than anything I can think of.

As a family I feel complete. There won't be anymore babies for this family. The baby maker has officially retired!

Oh goodness!

I spent my weekend nesting cleaning. I have cleaned the entire house! Did all the laundry and put it away, not something that is on the top list of things for me to do! I was on my hands and knees to mop all the tiles and I SWORE many times my vacuum was broken but SD told me that I had NO patience!

I have decided that it is just my luck to have this baby on either a duty day or a late day. Because well, That is how I roll! I have to find humor in this or I will drive myself silly with stress.

The past 4 days have been a bit stressful for me.

My mom was supposed to come out the first week of September but dad can not get vacation time because other people asked first. Yeah, I get that but I am special and they can SUCK IT! She was supposed to come out the 2nd through the 10th. The 3rd is orientation at school for Princess, 4th is my birthday, 8th school starts and 11th is my anniversary. It was going to be a busy week and I wanted my mom here for my birthday! I also wanted my mom here for Princess' first day of school! I think I will be a wreck that day!

So i took my stress out and cleaned the house. I know, I know I went backwards with the story but I think that had something to do with it. The proof you needed to see I am stressed.

Then to top it all off SD made a comment that I had not made homemade chicken pot pie in a long time so I was going to go to the market to get the stuff I needed to make it. Well I get in the car and it does not turn over! CRAP!!!!
Either it is the battery or alternator. I think it is the battery because on Friday the cabin light was left on for about 10 hours. How I am not sure since the last time we used the car Friday was at 10am! Who needs a cabin light at 10am???? (don't answer that) Why do I think it is my alternator? Because once again, that is how I roll! LOL No because that would be my luck at 39 weeks and I would go into labor when the car was in the shop! Because once again, That is how I roll!!!

So I am still here and pregnant. I am 39 weeks tomorrow, I will blog about that tonight.

Hope you all had a great weekend and Monday!!!!

I know I had a case of the Monday's that NO ONE wants!
