This week is just a week of quotes. I hope you enjoy!!!

Quotable Thursday #5

Welcome to Quotable Thursday

This week I have decided to give you some quotes on children. Enjoy!

Human beings are the only creatures that allow their children to come back home.
Bill Cosby

Ask your child what he wants for dinner only if he's buying.
Fran Lebowitz

The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.
Harry S Truman

It is not giving children more that spoils them; it is giving them more to avoid confrontation.
John Gray

You know that children are growing up when they start asking questions that have answers.
John J. Plomp

Outings are so much more fun when we can savor them through the children's eyes.
Lawana Blackwell

Our children change us... whether they live or not.
Lois McMaster Bujold

Some men just aren't cut out for paternity. Better they should realize it before and not after they become responsible for a son.
Lois McMaster Bujold

You don't pay back your parents. You can't. The debt you owe them gets collected by your children, who hand it down in turn. It's a sort of entailment. Or if you don't have children of the body, it's left as a debt to your common humanity. Or to your God, if you possess or are possessed by one.
Lois McMaster Bujold

Oh, Wal-Mart

Monday is my free day. Well, one of them anyway. I use that day to go shopping, run errands, and clean from the weekend. Well Monday I needed to make a Wal-Mart trip.

I went early because it was supposed to be hot and since I had the kids in tow.

Let me say first, my Wal-Mart is 24 hours and NOT a super Wal-Mart. We do not have them here actually.

I get there at 8am or so. Did my shopping on the first floor. Yes, the Wal-Mart I go to has 2 floors. Then head to go upstairs. Since its safer IMO to take the elevator.

Guess what?!

Its broken. GREAT!

So I go up the escalator.

Guess what?!

Its broken! You have to walk up it. Which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to carry Prince and have Princess walk. All while I'm not supposed to be doing a lot of things like that! Ugh

Wal-Mart, you are 24 hours a day. Could you have picked a better day to to maintenance. If not a better day a better time. I am not the only mother that was frustrated by this. Also, what about the people in wheel chairs and those scooter things that get up at the butt crack of dawn to shop? Tad bit ridiculous if you ask me.

I will continue to shop at this Wal-Mart because its nice and clean. I like the location of it as well as their selection of stuff. However, I think their maintenance schedule can SUCK IT!

Thrift Store Tuesday

Thrift Store Tuesday is something done over at Confessions of a Psychotic Housewife, I love the idea!!! I usually shop for my kids at thrift stores and build their wardrobe up that way! I think it is a wonderful way to save money and get name brand things that I refuse to pay for at less than half the price!

Last week I went to a thrift store around my house and I found the WONDERFUL jacket for Princess! She loves it! It is a bit cold to wear now but she can wear it this winter when she is in school and we go to Minnesota. The jacket is a size 6 so it is perfect. The original cost was $5 but since they were having a sale I got the jacket for 50% off and that was $2.50!!! What a steal! I just washed it up and let it air dry!!!!

I thought that was it.....

Oh the joys of a toddler with pediatricians.

Prince has been walking since he was 9 months old. He always had his feet turn in a bit, I thought it was just the toddler thing. I have taken him to two peds and got the same answer, "It will correct itself in a couple months".

Bullshit!

It has only gotten worse. His feet still turn in and his left one is worse than the right. I have said many things at his check-ups and I have felt ignored. I did get help from regional center here. They were great help. Unfortunately I was given inserts for his shoes that he does not like to wear. We tried everything and he just did not like them. He has worn suede type shoes that we got made for him, but they can not help in his foot form or anything like that.

I took him to his doctor yesterday and I was told he has Tibial Torsion. I have looked it up and it is not THAT bad, not something I was expecting. I was expecting them to tell me that he had bruised his feet and that it would get better. Boy was I wrong!!!

We see a Orthopedic Surgeon in the middle of the month and we will find out what they will do. They could either let it go or just do braces, shoes or I am not sure.

It is a bit frustrating because I knew something was not right. I did everything I was told to do and it did not fix itself. I wanted it fixed earlier because he would fall and hit his head and trip a lot. UGH the frustration of doctors....

When are they going to give Mother's the credit of us knowing our own kids?

I am so excited.... Yummy

Quotable Thursday

I have chosen to post about marriage. Not because mine has issues or because it is perfect. Just because!

Enjoy

All married couples should learn the art of battle as they should learn the art of making love. Good battle is objective and honest - never vicious or cruel. Good battle is healthy and constructive, and brings to a marriage the principle of equal partnership.
Ann Landers

I used to believe that marriage would diminish me, reduce my options. That you had to be someone less to live with someone else when, of course, you have to be someone more.
Candice Bergen

A great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
Dave Meurer

Marriage. It's like a cultural hand-rail. It links folks to the past and guides them to the future.
Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider

What is right for one couple is wrong for another. I would say that there are many more important factors to a happy marriage.
Elizabeth Aston

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
Mignon McLaughlin

A good marriage is one which allows for change and growth in the individuals and in the way they express their love.
Pearl Buck

I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.
Rita Rudner
